For a different but no less exhilarating forest adventure, try Sky Walk an impressive series of bridges and paths. Here you can experience spectacular views as you walk across the metal structures over serious heights. Several bridges take you right alongside the canopy of tall trees, some of which have colonized the bridges, draping their woody lianas over the ramparts. Bring binoculars, for here's your chance to spot birds and howler monkeys at their own level.

The Sky Tram tour reaches an observation area at the highest point of the Arenal Reserve, from where you can admire the natural beauty of the rain forest, the volcano and lake.  Once you have reached the observation deck, you can also enjoy a walk through a nice trail.

Sky Trek is a tour of adventure full of adrenaline high above the treetops, allowing you to observe the rainforest at its best and stunning views of the Arenal Volcano and the Arenal Lake.   The tour includes 8 cables with distances up to 2460 feet and a maximum height of 660 feet. The zip lines and tram are complementary: you cannot do just the zip lines.

Another exciting and recently introduced option is the Sky Trek Night Tour.  This is a totally different experience that combines the conventional Sky Trek and the possibility to observe the volcano’s incandescent light explosions and nocturnal wildlife.

A great complementary of your tour, its our butterfly garden and Orchid exhibition that you can visit for no cost. They are located next to our parking lot and can be enjoyed by all ages.

Don't forget to visit the Arenal exhibition Gallery, where you can learn about the volcano formation, La Fortuna history and culture, and watch amazing videos and sounds of lava eruptions.

Enjoy Sky Walk it's an unforgettable experience, the excitement of looking to one side and seeing   the tops of the trees and at the same time feel the sensation of walking among the clouds the  principal objective is to offer a different observational perspective of tropical forest, as a new alternative in tourism for nature lovers.

Who Will Like Sky Walk:

When you come to visit our forest, you will be surprised to find yourself-like the birds-admiring Mother Nature from the top of the trees. This is because from the beginning of your walk you will be ascending-step by step-until you find yourself as high up as the vegetation that will surround you (up to 130 feet). Here, a series of bridges, trails and platforms awaits you in order to safely walk together with your family without any worries can enjoy a walk through the clouds.

Sky Walk is ideal for professors, students, researchers, naturalists, whole families, and the public in general. The climb is not strenuous or muddy, as the trails are well maintained and generally very flat. Local guides accompany each tour and help visitors learn about native plant and animal species.

This tour generally lasts two to three hours. Groups can be no larger than ten people.

Until recently, little was known about life in the tops of tropical forests, as it was nearly impossible to get so high. Early explorers used ropes and pulleys or ladders carved into tree trunks to make their way up. Today, biologists explore the forest canopy using towers, suspension bridges and construction cranes.

Biologists now know that about 90 percent of all organisms in a rainforest are found in the canopy. The sun that barely reaches the forest floor strikes treetops with full force, fueling the photosynthesis that eventually results in leaves, fruit and seeds. Since there's a bounty of good food way up there, animals abound in the canopy as well.

Costa Rica’s rain forests comprise some of the world's most complex ecosystems. The Sky Walk gives visitors the unique chance of seeing this complex web of life up close.

Costa Rica Sky Adventures is the founders and creators of the world famous Sky Walk hanging bridges. This concept was introduced in Monteverde in 1997 and since has been a total achievement to explore the forest from imaginable perspectives.
