1. MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF SUSTAINABILITY


Costa Rica Sky Adventures is a company that daily promotes excellence in its services, in addition to providing a safe and unforgettable adventure, our company is aware of the importance it deserves our natural environment, therefore Valle Monteverde, Costa Rica Sky Adventures S.A. as part of its commitments, began a process of incorporating environmental sustainability throughout a team.


This year, 2008, took place the process of drafting the 2009 plan for sustainability led by the consulting firm Norte y Sur S.A, which is a partner of the owners of Valle Monteverde S.A, seeking to develop a system of continuous improvement in the company .



2. Components for Valle Monteverde SGS


2.1 Commitment and Environmental Policy: for the proper functioning of the SGS requires first a commitment from the General Management to provide direct support to the continuous improvement of the system. The company's environmental policy must be clear, concise and only known by all, realistic and feasible.


2.2 Environmental Assessment: the environmental analysis involves planning where you need to conduct a review of processes, identifying the sources of the problems, review of legislation and past incidents. The process described above should have a basic foundation for developing a report.


2.3 Planning and Implementation: When you have identified the problems and regulations is to identify targets and goals can develop programs that will shape the management plan for sustainability. The implementation of the plan requires training, documentation, operational control and internal communication.



3. Management Plan Sustainability


The management plan for the sustainability of Costa Rica Sky Adventures has three fundamental policies:


- Minimize the impacts that the business activity generated by physical and biological environment.


- Administration to ensure the validity of the organization as a profitable company, responsible and innovative.


- Maximizing the economic and social benefits to the community that may arise from the operation of the business now and the future.



4. Objectives of the Management Plan of Sustainability


The policies described above have specific objectives which are focused on three main areas:


4.1 Environmental Party


- Use of natural resources rational basis for the operation of business.

- Significantly reduce waste and consumption of manufactured goods.

- Treat the environment and properly redisponer wastewater and solid waste product of the operation of the company.

- Measure and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) to achieve a C-neutrality condition for the company.


4.2 Business Management


- Operate in the business world in all its dimensions which establishes national law for similar companies.

- Develop the best working conditions in the company.

- Maintain a modern management and marketing of the company.

- Develop and maintain an ongoing search for excellence in customer service, suppliers, shareholders and staff of the company.

- Implement a code of ethics aimed at preserving the best values of the idiosyncrasy of Costa Ricans.



4.2 Social Party


- Ensure that the job opportunities that represent the company's activities are mainly used by members of local communities.

- Establish a systematic and structured assistance to community initiatives and the protection of children in the areas of education, health and safety.

- Respect and help protect the manifestations of cultural and historical regional and national.



To carry out the objectives of this plan is necessary to have properly trained Environmental Committees, in the case of Costa Rica Sky Adventures applies to both Fortuna and Monteverde areas where its conformation is scheduled to start in January 2009. They will become the engines of the implementation of planned activities in this plan.


It should be noted that environmental committees will be governed and directed by the overall coordination of 2 namely: Carolina Vargas, Assistant General Manager - Research & Development and Luis Rodriguez, Controller & Sustainability Services. In turn, these will be monitored and 2 coordinators targeted for the consultancy firm.
